  • It is best to use the Advanced search feature in JSTOR
  • Access it directly using the JSTOR - Advanced Search link (or click Advanced Search from the basic screen)
  • Type your search term in the first box
  • Leave the drop down box (outlined in purple) on full-text (Approximately 10% of JSTOR articles have abstracts) unless you are looking for an author or a specific article title
  •  Add additional terms to the search using the AND drop down box to form a boolean search
  • The box in the blue outlined section (Select An Access Type) defaults to Read and Download

To broaden the search you can change it to All Content and then locate the full text elsewhere

  • In the NARROW BY (green outline) section check the Article box to eliminate items such as book reviews from the results

  • Scroll down the screen to the NARROW BY DISCIPLINE AND/OR JOURNAL
  • Check the box next to Business
  • Then click the Search button
