"An interview with author Gore Vidal is presented. When asked how he became involved with humanism he responds that humanism is a great tradition. When asked about U.S. President Barack Obama's call out to humanists in his inauguration speech Vidal responds that Obama has presented himself as an educated Jeffersonian humanist. He opines that although the U.S. has been going in the direction of imperialism for years it is possible to educate average Americans about the dangers of imperialism."
