New York Times (NYT) Online Access: Home

CREATE AN ACCOUNT FIRST!

(1) Go to the link above

(2) Click Create Account*

(3) You MUST use your CNU email account in the email box

(4) Either choose Student and choose your graduation year from the drop down box

OR choose Faculty/Staff (automatically expires after 4 years at which time you would need to renew access)

(5) Click the Sign Up button

(6) It will say You've claimed your NYTimes Pass!

(7) Click the Get Started button

(8) Select your interests (News is already selected) and click Continue

(9) Select email Newsletters and click Continue (or click Skip if you don't want any)

(10) Save recent stories to your account (or not) and click Continue

(11) On the next screen it gives you an option to download the NYT App or to click Not Right Now (note if you download the app you will need to use your CNU Account to access it - it may log you in to a personal account under the email you use as the default on your mobile device - you will have to log out of that version and login with the CNU email version.)

(12) You should be all set!

*If you already have a NYT account and are logged into it, it should skip to step 4

*Already have a personal paid subscription? 

If a student or a faculty/staff member has a personal paid subscription, you are welcome to cancel it and set up and account through CNU.

"EXISTING registered subscribers with ACTIVE PAID subscriptions must cancel their subscription by visiting nytimes.com/help or calling 1-855-698-1157. Once the subscription is canceled, they can visit accessnyt.com, type in the school name, and follow the instructions based on location. Since the subscriber “Already has an account " they click “Log In" (Found below "Create an Account"). Input their email address and the same “Password” created for their previous account if the subscriber encounters an error message the subscriber can email  edu@nytimes.com."
