"KQED news report from Alcatraz on November 24th 1969, featuring views of the occupying Indians and interviews with spokesmen at Fisherman's Wharf. Richard Oakes tells reporters: "There's a dual sense of justice in this country. We'd like an end to this. And I think this here - manning the island of Alcatraz - is a positive step in that direction. If they're gonna treat us separately, then we'll remain separately." "KPIX's Mike Lee interviews a group of American Indian medicine men on June 24th 1970, who describe how they visited activist Richard Oakes in hospital and successfully assisted with his recovery from a head wound. Wallace "Mad Bear" Anderson explains that: "The power is not within the medecine men, the power is within the creator. We work through the creator. We're only the tools of the creator. Without him, Indian medecine can't work.""

Also includes views of Oakes singing on Vista Pier, swimming with others from the Monte Cristo yacht towards Alcatraz and of Adam Fortunate Eagle returning to Vista Pier on the Monte Cristo, declaring that: "American Indians have secured the island of Alcatraz!"
