"De Re Militari: the Society for Medieval Military History is a scholarly society dedicated to the study of warfare, broadly construed, in the Middle Ages. The society is a non-profit, tax-exempt private foundation under Internal Revenue Service Section 509(a). It is run by an all-volunteer group of members from across the educational spectrum: research universities, liberal arts colleges, secondary education, professional military education, independent scholars, and the private sector. Officers receive no compensation from Society dues or the publication of the Society journal."
