Getting Started Guide: Plays & Acting: Databases

Database Searching Tips

TIP:  If you are getting too many results from a search

  • Try putting quotation marks around the title, for example:

"Glass Menagerie" instead of Glass Menagerie

  • Try adding the playwright's last name to the search, for example:

"Glass Menagerie" AND Williams

TIP: If you are getting too few results from a search

  • Try searching only part of the title, for example:

If the exact title is If this be not a Good Play, the Devil is in It  then try searching for just part of the title If this be not a Good Play

  • Try leaving out punctuation - especially semicolons, periods, and commas, for example:

Instead of If this be not a Good Play, the Devil is in It try If this be not a Good Play the Devil is in It
