Monday, January 20th:  Classes will not meet from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. so that you may participate in Christopher Newport’s commemoration.

●      At 3 p.m., we will meet on the Great Lawn for music and reflection. We’ll then march to the Diamonstein Concert  Hall for a program that includes student performances and contributions by faculty and special guests.

●      At 8 p.m. you are invited to the concert hall for a President’s Leadership Program address by the Honorable John Charles Thomas, a retired justice of the Virginia Supreme Court.

This day will have more meaning for all of us when we, as a community, join together to learn, listen, serve and reflect. I look forward to seeing you on the 20th as we honor Dr. King who was an extraordinary leader whose legacy is a freer and fairer America.
