- Developed in 1974 by G. S. Bonn.
- Calculation: call number % of total circulation/call number % of total holdings
- Ideal result in terms of collection usage is 1.
- Results above 1 indicate that a collection is overused; results less than 1 indicate that a collection is underused.

- Calculation: Bonn's Use Factor * 100 = % of expected use.
- Percentages over 100% indicates an overused collection; less than 100%, an underused collection.
