How do I sign up for electronic delivery?
Everyone has Preferred Electronic Delivery set to "yes" by default when they register as First-Time Users. This is the method which CNU's ILL service uses to send articles to patrons.
We will only allow articles to be retrieved in print form if the copy quality is too poor for the material to be digitized and delivered via pdf or if the copy of the article is a nonstandard size. (top)
How do I know if my computer can receive electronic articles?
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and configured to work with your Web browser in order to view, download, and print these articles. If you can read the sample page, then your computer has the necessary software installed to work with your Web browser. However, if your computer tells you the file type is unknown and asks if you want to save the file to disk, then you need to install the (free) Adobe Acrobat Reader software. (top)
How do I get Adobe Acrobat Reader?
How do I get my articles when they arrive?
- You will be notified by email and it will have a link and password to retrieve your article, alternately you can log into your ILL@CNU account.
- Once you log in, a list of your requests will be shown.
- Click on the active link to retrieve your article. Please note you can only click on the link 5 times before it expires. It will also expire after 30 days. After that, you will have to request the item again. (top)
How do I know which requests will be electronically delivered and which ones will not?
ILL@CNU sends you an e-mail notification for each item received. That e-mail will include information about the delivery method. If the article is electronic, you will get an email with the link and password.(top)
What if I do not want electronic delivery?
Electronic delivery is the default for ILL accounts. Paper delivery will only be provided if the article is too illegible for scanning. (top)
What if I have questions about electronic delivery?
You can e-mail questions to firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at (757) 594-8818. (top)
