Photoshop: Photoshop - Media Matter

Basics on Photoshop CC

The Basics

Photoshop is mainly a photo editing program used to enhance existing images.  You can create from scratch, do basic animation and even edit video if you need to.  The program understands a wide variety of file types.

It is important to understand these items when working with PS:

Shortcut keys - make tasks quicker

Layers - it's just how PS works!  Don't fight it!

Opening images/ saving images

Cut and paste - just what you think!

Concept of the brush tool - not just for paint

Photoshop is a raster (pixel) editor.  By default you work in a RGB color mode, but you can switch to CMYK if you are planning to print.
