Wallis Simpson and Edward visit Nazis in Germany, 1937

In October 1937, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (formerly Edward VIII and Mrs Wallis Simpson) visited Germany where they met Adolf Hitler. It was a very controversial decision and the British government advised Edward and Wallis not to do the trip. It has been reported the Duke gave full Nazi salutes. Although the Pathe footage does not show the salute, it does show the Duke of Windsor at a concert hall surrounded by swastikas and portraits of Hitler.
